Like any other city, town or village about 15 percent of the population has the gene for addiction. Some cultures have an unusually high rate of addiction, but addiction is a problem in every corner of the world.
My grandfather, Early Byrd Davis, was Cherokee; Native Americans have a 75 percent rate of alcoholism. He was a raging alcoholic. How do I know if I carry the gene for addiction?
