When we lose someone we dearly love, words can not describe the heartbreak. The pain and alienation we may experience can leave us feeling as if we are a boat with no anchor – adrift. What once had meaning may lose its attraction. Life can feel lifeless and dull.
While there are no certain responses to grief, these are some common responses: denial, anger, confusion, depression, and eventually acceptance. The most difficult aspect of grief is when it gets complicated. Other matters can be entangled with our grief. Our grief can be stuck.
When we are grieving, we need sensitivity, patience, understanding, kindness, and caring. There is no time table with loss.
Yet, when you are ready, there are ways to assist you in moving past grief that is stuck. There is hope.
Grief can also isolate us. We can feel as if no one understands our pain.
